Adoption  Fees

 

Cats under 7 years of age:  $155

Cats 7 years-old and older:
(People 65 or older wishing to adopt a cat 7+ may qualify for the
Nine Lives Club, in which case, the adoption fee is waived))

Dogs:     $200
Puppies 1 year old or younger  $350*
* This adoption fee includes a six week obedience training class at the shelter, along with a $50 rebate upon completion
(Rebate also applies to classes taken elsewhere)
Senior Citizens receive a $50 discount.

All adoption fees include spay/neuter, annual vaccinations, microchip identification, heartworm and feline leukemia/FIV testing, deworming, collar and ID tag, leash for dogs and carrying case for cats.

CHICAGOLAND'S GREAT AMERICAN MUTT SHOW in BERWYN: Interested Participants, Vendors, Sponsors and Volunteers Can Now Register to be Involved by Calling 708-788-8100

The Berwyn Development Corporation (BDC) and the City of Berwyn team up with PAWS Chicago, Chicagoland Dock Dogs, VCA Berwyn Animal Hospital, Tails in Need NYC, Anderson Animal Shelter, The Brookfield Zoo and the Animal Care League to host the second annual Great American Mutt Show for the Chicagoland area. The event will take place in Berwyn, IL on Saturday, May 17th, 2008 (10am-3pm) at Morton West High School, located at 2400 Home Ave, Berwyn, IL 60402. Also included will be a two-day Dock Dogs (www.dockdogs.com) agility competition (May 17th and May 18th). You can also call us at 708-788-8100 if you would like to signup your dog for the Dock Dogs agility tournament.

At the same time as the Dock Dogs agility event will be taking place, the Chicagoland Great American Mutt Show will feature a wide variety of entertainment-based competitions for mixed breeds, rescue dogs and all pets, and will also include classes and presentations by sponsors. A Best in Show will be awarded the grand prize at the end of the event. The sponsored classes and presentations will range from new pet products to tips on grooming, training, nutrition, pet care and many more. The contests currently opened for registration will include the following competitions, which may be subject to change or merging pending sign-up results:

- Best Lap Dog Over 50 Lbs. - Looks Most Like Owner - Most Creative Pet Trick - Best Kisser - Best Catcher - Highest Jumper - Most Unusual Markings - Unusual Mixture - Looks Most Like Another Animal (fox, bear...) - Most Unusual Bark - Best Smile - Best Listener - "A Face Only A Mother Could Love" Contest - Best dressed - Crowd Favorite - Longest Tongue/Most Comical - Friendliest Dog - Smallest Big Dog


Fees generated at the Great American Mutt Show will help support animal rescue (PAWS Chicago), education and other non-profit resources to help us maintain the event on a yearly basis and continue to raise awareness and help animal rescue.

Fees include the following:

Entry Fee for Spectators

Seniors: $3
Children:$3(12-18yrs)
Children under 12yrs: FREE
